Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, president of MQI’s Supreme Council, called on Dr Abdul Fuzail al-Qausi, former Vice Chancellor of Al-Azher University and vice president of World Association for al-Azhar Graduation, on January 17, 2010. Dr Ghulam Muhammad Qamer al-Azhari, member of teaching faculty, Osama Yasin, director of World Association for al-Azhar Graduation and Asadullah Jan al-Azhari, joint representative of the Pakistani student community and World Association for Azhar Graduation, were also present on the occasion. It should be remembered that Al-Azhar University is one of the oldest and great seats of learning in the Islamic world.

Educational challenges facing the Muslim community the world over and other matters of mutual interest came under discussion during the meeting. Both former Vice Chancellor and Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri agreed that education could be a very effective instrument to defeat the forces of extremism and anarchy and could pave the way for revival of glorious past of the Umma. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri briefed Dr Abdul Fuzail al-Qausi about the collaboration between Minhaj University Lahore and Al-Azhar University and conveyed him the message of well being on behalf of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abdul Fuzail paid tribute to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri for his role in the promotion of peace, interfaith dialogue and harmony at multiple levels.
